Islamic
University, kushtia Bangladesh by and large known as Islamic University (IU),
Kushtia (Bengali: ইবি), is a standout amongst the most

History: On 1
December 1976 then the organization broadcasted the foundation of the Islamic
University to endorse Islamic System of instruction and to co-ordinate with
Islamic Education and different branches of present day training in the nation.
This University, Kushtia was based on 22 November 1979 at Shantidanga-Dulalpur
(Kushtia-Jhenidah) by the late president Ziaur Rahman set up on the quotation
of 'Islamic University Planning Committee' on 7 January 1977 controlled by M.
A. Bari with other seven members.Then the Islamic University Act was passed by
National Assembly of Bangladesh on 27 December 1980.The principle objective for
establishing Islamic University is "to accommodate direction in philosophy
and different fields of Islamic Studies and corresponding statute and such
different branches of learning at Graduatge and Postgraduate level as the
University may think fit and make arrangement for research including
Post-Doctorate research and preparing for the improvement and spread of
knowledge"[Clause 5(a), The Islamic University Act 1980(37)]. On 1 January
1981 the administration of Bangladesh chose A. N. M. Mamtajuddin Choudhury as
the principal bad habit chancellor and the University wound up noticeably
operational that year.

As the development of a few
essential structures started, a presidential pronouncement was issued on 15 May
1982 to move the college from Shantidanga-Dulalpur to Boardbazar, Gazipur on a
zone of 50 sections of land. The development of a scholastic building, two
private lobbies and other fundamental foundations were finished. At first, two
resources (Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, Faculty of Humanities and
Social Sciences) with four offices (Al-Quran, Dawah, Accounting, Management)
were built up and 300 understudies were enlisted. In 1987, two more offices
(Sharia and Economics) were built up. On 28 December 1988, while the framework
improvement and scholastic exercises were going all out, the college was again
moved to Shantidanga-Dulalpur (Kushtia-Jhenidah).
In 1991 five more divisions —
Bengali, English, Arabic, Islamic History, and Public Administration — were set
up.
